Principal’s Bio

Gregory F. Betancourt is a licensed attorney in the State of Florida with over 17 years of litigation experience, the last 15 years dedicated primarily to the practice of Family Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998. He is a graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law and is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. Mr. Betancourt is a State of Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and is the recipient of the Ray H. Pearson Guardian Ad Litem of the Year Award. He is an experienced trial attorney that has litigated all aspects of family and matrimonial law matters including dissolution of marriage, child custody, timesharing, alimony, spousal support, child support, domestic violence, paternity, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, guardian ad litem matters , mediation and Hague Convention cases regarding child abductions.

Mediation

Mediation is a process for resolving disputes under the guidance of a neutral 3rd party whose role is to open lines of communication and allow parties to explore all settlement options in order to resolve key family issues including child custody, support, timesharing, alimony, asset division, etc… In Florida, the law requires both sides to attend mediation prior to a judge conducting a final hearing on the case. Parties can save significant time and money by mediating their family matter and the process gives them more control over the outcome of their case. All communications and proceedings of mediation are confidential.

At the Law Offices of Gregory F. Betancourt we provide comprehensive mediation services in a comfortable facility conveniently located to both Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Mr. Betancourt will also travel as required. Bilingual staff (English/Spanish).
